KABT 2014 Fall Conference

This past Saturday I had a chance to join other Kansas teachers at the annual Kansas Association of Biology Teachers’ 2014 Fall Conference. There were great presentations like a CDC Ambassador program, the Free State Prairie Restoration program, and a keynote presentation from Dr. Marshall Sundberg on inquiry with plants.

KABT

Biology Rocks was on the schedule as one of the community choice sessions to meet a request for more inquiry labs. As the room discussed their work in their own classrooms it seemed most people were comfortable with inquiry as a concept and many folks were in need of more ideas, scheduling and pacing guidance, and ways to adapt their existing materials to be more mobile on the inquiry spectrum.
